Ronald McDonald House Shreveport-Bossier

The Ronald McDonald House Shreveport-Bossier was designed to provide a welcoming, supportive environment for families with children receiving medical care in Northwest Louisiana. Developed for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas & North Louisiana (RMHCAR-NLA), the 20-family facility serves as a home away from home, offering comfort, stability, and essential resources during times of medical crisis.

Located on the campus of Willis-Knighton South in Shreveport, the House was thoughtfully planned to support both private and public access while creating spaces that foster connection, healing, and community. The design includes 20 private guest rooms, a large communal kitchen, dining area, family great room, indoor and outdoor play spaces, laundry facilities, and a family pantry, all centered around the needs of families staying close to their hospitalized children.

Our architectural approach focused on balancing functionality with hospitality, creating an environment that feels warm, comfortable, and residential while supporting the operational needs of the organization. The facility also accommodates volunteer-led meal programs, family services, educational resources, and counseling support, helping RMHCAR-NLA fulfill its mission of keeping families together when they need each other most.

The result is a purpose-driven community asset that provides comfort, dignity, and care for families during some of life's most challenging moments.
